Torani Holiday Syrups Review

By 7:02 PM ,
I was fortunate enough to "bring home the authentic coffeehouse flavor" by receiving two bottles of Torani syrups to review. I am one of those kind of people who loves a flavored drink whether that drink be a vanilla coke or a holiday spirit so I was super excited to receive these syrups.

Torani is the #1 brand of flavored syrups in America, offering over 100 delicious flavors! The syrups are made with the highest quality ingredients like cane sugar. Torani sent me Vanilla Bean and Pumpkin Spice to try. Both were great. I put the Pumpkin Spice in my mocha to make a delicious Pumpkin Spice Drink and of course I added the Vanilla Bean to my coke zero to make a homemade vanilla coke. Delicious!

Torani syrups also reduce the need to hire a bartender for your holiday party. Just follow their simple recipes to make unique, flavorful cocktails for your holiday guests!

So what are you waiting for? Bring home the authentic coffeehouse flavor from San Francisco. I invite you to be inspired and create delicious drinks at home!

CoverGirl Blastflipstick Review

I was lucky enough to receive several of COVERGIRL's new BLAST FLIPSTICKs to try. These lipsticks, created by COVERGIRL's Global Creative Design Director, Pat McGrath, are really neat because they are two lipsticks in one! The lipsticks feature an ultra blendable formula and are expertly matched to pair perfectly together.

The BLAST FLIPSTICK has two ends, one side has a creamy, bold color and the other offers a shimmery shade that looks great as a topper to the bold color. The lipsticks come in 13 different colorful, complementary, expertly matched shade duals and are available in most grocery stores, drug stores, and major retailers. They retail for $8.49.

I was lucky enough to receive the Pucker, Cheeky, and Minx colors and have really enjoyed using them. If you are looking for a new look this holiday season I would highly recommend trying these shades out. The shades even won the Cosmetic Executive Women Insiders' Beauty Award!

PEOPLE Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive 2012

By 9:48 PM , ,
Here it is in all its glory...PEOPLE Magazine's Annual Sexiest Man Alive issue:

Can I just say that I really love reading PEOPLE Magazine? I mean seriously...what's better than spending an hour with a glass of wine or a cup of hot coco flipping through the magazine getting caught up on all the latest gossip? That's why my excitement got the best of me when it was out on the shelf at Kroger and I couldn't help but take a picture. Don't believe me? Here's proof.

I particularly enjoyed this years PEOPLE Magazine's Annual Sexiest Man Alive issue. Not only was it full of pictures of gorgeous men but it also had lots of interesting articles. I was excited to find out that Channing Tatum had won the Sexiest Man Alive since he was one of my picks. I mean come on...who doesn't like this?

The magazine was full of other great articles including the article on Lauren Scruggs whose amazing story I believe has inspired us all. Wow. What a woman. Hands down favorite pic was of her and Bethany Hamilton (you know the girl who got her arm bitten off by a shark while surfing??). Talk about inspirational woman. You two are my heroes. I particularly admire your faith. Thanks to both of you for being wonderful examples of Godly woman.

I've gotta say the most disappointing picture in the magazine was hands down the below photo of Matthew. I don't care if he is playing the part of a character with AIDS. I mean gross! Anyone with me?

I can't conclude without first mentioning how impressed I was with Channing Tatum in his interview in the magazine. He mentioned his wife just about every paragraph which I thought was very sweet.

Overall I loved this issue of PEOPLE Magazine and hope you all enjoyed it as well.

On a final note I'd like to give a big CONGRATS to Allison Downes the winner of my Kroger giftcard giveaway. Thanks to everyone who entered. Until next time...stay sexy!

DIY Kitchen Table

By 8:49 PM
So my husband is awesome. He has serious talent when it comes to wood working skills. Our kitchen table from our old house wouldn't fit as our kitchen table for our new house so we made it our dinning room table. That was all dandy (yes I just used the word dandy in a sentence) except for that we did not have a kitchen table.

The hubs response? No problem. I'll make one. Oh, ok. No problem.

So what did he do? Spent the next two days making a table. And of course I love it! The best part? It only cost $50 to make the table! It's super sturdy and super cool looking. He is working on the bar stools for the table now and I'll be sure to post those when they are done.

In the meantime here's our new table in our new home:

Surprise Your Spouse: Break the Routine

By 8:30 PM , , , , ,

Most of our life is is the same day in and day out. I believe that is why when we are surprised like Lucy in the picture above, we get such a lift to our spirit. And believe it or not surprises are extremely important in marriage. If we’re not careful to mix it up every now and then our marriages can and will become routine, predictable, and boring.
Surprises, by their very nature, are not surprises if they happen all the time but every now and then it will change your marriage if you plan a little surprise for your spouse.
Think about the last time you were truly surprised. For me it was my birthday surprise when my wonderful husband surprised me with a mystery date. A simple surprise is enough to put unpredictable excitement in your marriage. And believe it or not chances are your love for your spouse will grow if for no other reason than they took the time and effort to plan something unexpected for you.
Surprises keep us from being overwhelmed by the routines of life and also keep us from a routine marriage.
So why not surprise your spouse? Below are some ideas but I encourage you to all get creative and come up with your own.
·    Do something you’ve never done before like add a note to their lunch
·    Plan a surprise weekend trip or unexpected meal out
·    Buy a special gift…it need not be expensive, just thoughtful
·    Pitch a tent in the backyard and spend a summer night under the stars
·   Rent a bicycle built for two and pack a picnic lunch.
·   Do something spontaneous, wild and crazy, unexpected, and memorable

·   Surprise your spouse with flowers for no reason

What other ideas do you have?

California Wine Club Review and Giveaway

By 9:55 PM , , , ,

I was lucky enough to receive a two month subscription to the California Wine Club to review and people let me know tell you....what a fun club to be a part of!

Since 1990, the club owners Bruce and Pam Boring, have traveled California's wine country searching for wines from small, family-owned wineries dedicated to making wonderful wine. CWC membership gives its members an adventure in wine tasting that will allow you to taste wines from Napa, Sonoma, and less explored wine regions like Santa Barbara, Monterey, and Sierra Foothills. More than 3/4 of California's 3,500+ wineries are small, mom and pop operations that you would not otherwise have the opportunity to try without making a trip out to Cali (which hey...that's never a bad idea, right? Just requires a little cash).

CWC really is like "one friend recommending a great bottle of wine to another." You can cancel membership at anytime and every wine is 100% guaranteed. Each wine club shipment includes two bottles of award-winning wine and their detailed 12-page publication called Uncorked. Uncorked offers an up-close and personal look at the family behind the wines plus tasting notes, recipes, wine luminary interviews, games and more.Click here to get an up-close and personal look at a few of their recently featured wineries.

I really have been enjoying my subscription to this wine club. The two bottles of wine I received this month was some of the best wine I have ever had. And the hubby agreed. Double score.

With the holidays right around the corner how perfect of a gift would a subscription to CWC make for your loved one or friend? I know I'd be happy to receive it!

We Are Home Owners

By 3:12 PM , , , , , ,
After almost a full year of looking for a home, placing multiple offers, and going through a saga of housing horror stories(which you can read about here and here and here and here and here...I do realize I sound like an emotional wreck in these posts as I bounce from ecstatic to depressed back to ecstatic but, honestly, that's the way I felt) it is finally over!

We closed on our home the beginning of this week (yes it got pushed even further back from my last post) and still have lots and lots to unpack but we are officially moved in! No more living out of boxes! Here she is in all her glory:

I can honestly say that buying a house (this house in particular) took the award for the most stressful, emotional, hardest decision and process I've ever made/been through. I know you all probably think I'm all crazy but really I've only blogged about 10% of all we went through to get this house so I am beyond excited to finally call it home.

There are so many things to do once you own a home. The last week has been crazy for us...especially since I work full time and have only been able to unpack and get things done in between the hours of 6:30pm until whenever I can no longer keep my eyelids open.

Just some of the things you go through once you own the house you might not have thought of: moving all your stuff; unpacking and find a home for all your stuff; setting up gas, electricity, and water; setting up TV and Internet (wow is that a monopoly or what!); pressure washing the house and drive way; painting the outside (let's not even begin to talk interior yet); cleaning; setting up the HOA; the list goes on and on! But all that to say it's totally worth it to own your own home!

Oh and on a funny note the only neighbor we have met so far was one that knocked on our door at 7pm last night to ask us to sign a petition to a new board member joining the HOA...I hope this isn't going to be a reoccurring problem, lol...

Stay tuned: lots of pictures coming soon as I begin to get unpacked.

Do Not Fear The Future

By 7:35 PM , , , , ,
I have been doing a lot of thinking lately (which is always a scary thought) and the sermon at church today really verbalized all my thoughts. I am sure many of my readers have, like myself, heard many people say they are scared of how this upcoming election is going to turn out. Yes, in many ways this is a pivotal election but regardless of who does or does not get elected Tuesday, those of us who are Christians have nothing to fear!

We should not fear the future because our God is sovereign and has unlimited control of all

There are many, many scriptures throughout the Bible that mention we should not fear the future. For example....

Deuteronomy 3:22  "Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Lamentations 3:57 "You came near when I called you and you said, “Do not fear.”

Mark 5:36 "Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”

God warns us not to fear because fear allows us to forget God's power and sovereignty. Fear is misplaced faith and fear blocks out generosity. For example, fear of the unknown may cause you to hoard your resources, time, talent instead of using them for God's glory. Finding out you have an illness and fearing the future can deter you from living your life to the fullest of God's purpose. For those of us in our 20s fear of the unknown is extremely common. The "what-ifs" wear down our thoughts and our actions respond.

In Romans 8:37-39 it says, "in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

If you belong to God you don't have to fear what is in the present or future. Wow. That's powerful stuff.

This also means we should not be afraid if a president is chosen on Tuesday you don't believe in because who leads our country cannot separate you from God. Don't misunderstand me...I am not saying that if you are a Christian you should not vote. By all means GO VOTE. What I am saying is that regardless of what happens God has unlimited control of all and maintains sovereignty and that my friends, is awesome!

Yes things are not ok in the world or even in the wonderful US of A but because we belong to Him and He is sovereign we will be ok.

So when someone asks you at the water cooler at work on Tuesday why you don't seem worried over who wins this election I challenge you to respond, "I voted but I am not worried...God is sovereign!"

Interested in hearing more? Feel free to listen to the sermon that encouraged this post here

Have a great week my friends and do not fear the future!

Influenster Beauty Blogger VoxBox

By 10:08 PM , ,
I recently received my first Influenster VoxBox. Influenster is a site of trendsetters who share their lifestyles and help influence the items they receive.  You sign up and take surveys, which then helps you earn badges.  The badges you earn help Influenster better understand you. Did I mention the program is free for bloggers? That's right, free!

One of the items that I received was the Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin. This pin turned out to be a little confusing to me but was a lot of fun to try out.

Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit:  These come with a Pro Lash Applicator, and a latex-free glue that claims to hold the lashes in place for 24 hours. This was my first time trying out fake lashes. Again not the biggest fan but a lot of fun to try out!

NYC New York Color Individual Eyes in Dark Shadows:  The eyeshadow palette had a mixture of powder and cream items in it, which I liked.  I specially liked the primer in the eyeshadow container.

Not Your Mothers Kinky Moves:  This is a great product infused with natural grape seed and jasmine to encourage your natural curls and eliminate fly-aways and frizz.  For those of us like me with naturally curly, frizzy hair this stuff is great!

Eboost Orang Flavor:  Eboost claims it will boost your mood, focus, and immunity with natural ingredients and no crash.  They come in four different flavors, and they are easy to use.  All you do is add it to a cold glass of water.

Body Bath & Body Works Mini Candles in Nutmeg and Spice: This is the mini size candle, but don't let that fool you, it's fragrance spreads throughout a large room. I loved the scent of this candle and burnt it on Halloween (sorry I didn't get a good picture of this one folks).

Hope you liked my Beauty Blogger VoxBox review.

I received these products complimentary for testing and review purposes from Influenster.  I did not receive any form of compensation from the company.  All opinions are my own.

Want to get great gifts without breaking the bank? I have found that the best way to do so is to hit up the early sales. More selection, better prices, and, best of all, not as many crowds (boy, oh boy do I hate Christmas shopping crowds)!

If you are ready to save some money and get that holiday shopping started make sure to hit up Kmart's Family and Friends sale THIS Sunday,  November 4th.

Not only will Kmart be offering some killer deals on Sunday but they have also given me coupons I can share with my readers (double score) that can be found here

Kmart is a great retailer to find electronics, scarves, and even home goods. I also love that my local Kmart offers the local sporting teams wear (holler UGA! Who, let's just through out there, beat UF last Saturday! Woot, woot!). I also really enjoy the cafe offered inside Kmart as I am a big fan of their coke ices.

All this talk of holiday shopping is really making me want to start decorating my house for Christmas which is going to be a lot of fun this year in my new home. You can also find all your Christmas decorating needs at Kmart.

What are you waiting for? Get out and get shopping Sunday, November 4th at your local Kmart! And don't forget to print your coupons.
