By 11:07 AM , , , , , ,
I am excited to share with you the newest post in a series of posts on our little guy's nursery.

This post features the cover for his changing pad made by The Pink Polka Dot Boutique

I got the changing pad cover for little guy's nursery from Christine at The Pink Polka Dot Boutique. When Christine agreed to send me an item to review I spent quite a long time going through all of Christine's adorable products at her store as she not only sells really cute changing pad covers but also sells sweet baby shoes, crib sheets, nursing pillows, receiving blankets, burp clothes, and all kinds of other adorable baby goods! However, I am very glad I got the changing pad cover because it looks A-DORABLE in E's room!

The material on the changing pad is a mink fabric that is so soft! Here is a overall view of his changing can see how the changing cover just completes the look:

I could not be more pleased with the cover or the quality and would highly recommend purchasing a cover from Christine. Now for  more about Christine and her store :).

My First Baby Shower

By 2:55 PM ,
My sister-in-laws hosted the sweetest baby shower for me a few weekends ago. I thought I would share with you all some of the pictures and highlights from the shower. It is hard for me to believe I am a mere two months away from welcoming my little guy into the world! Time is beginning to fly!

We had so much fun being showered with love by these sweet ladies. We were so honored to receive our stroller, car seat, Pack 'N' Play, and many other goodies but I must say one of my absolute favorite things we received is this blanket that my mom handmade for little guy's room. What an act of love!

Here is a picture of me and my sweet mom:

These sweet friends drove down from the mountains for my shower- such sweet friends!

Here is a photo of my sweet hosts:

And last but most def not least a photo of little man's GREAT-grandmothers. I'd say he is a lucky little fellow!

My Current Spring Pregnancy Craving + Easy Clean Up

By 11:19 AM , , , ,
This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Wet-Nap but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #showusyourmess

For the most part my cravings this pregnancy have come and gone however I have had one constant craving this spring...Coke Icees! I can not seem to get enough of them. I don't know what it is about them...maybe it's the cold taste of the ice going down my throat? Whatever it is I want all.the.time! The bad news is I am trying to limit my intact of Coke Icees I purchase from the convenience stores as they do not offer caffeine-free Coke Icees. But this poses a problem because those of you who have been pregnant know that as a pregnant lady when you get a craving you get a craving!

Luckily I have found I can make my own, caffeine-free Coke Icees at home! They are actually pretty simple to make. The only downside is that they can be quite messy! Luckily I had gone shopping at Walmart for a Wet-Nap Packet and had it ready to go to help me clean up the mess!

To make these Icees all you need are the below ingredients and supplies:
  • Caffeine-free Coke
  • Ice cube tray (who likes my UGA ice cubes ;))
  • Blender (The Magic Bullet works great!)
  • Wet-Nap wipes for easy clean up

The first suggestion I have for you when making your own Icee for a delicious spring treat is to make your own ice cubes out of coke instead of blending ice and coke. Although blending ice and coke will work it makes for a more watered down Icee instead of a delightful coke treat similar to that of one you would purchase.

As you can see it didn't take long for me to make a mess. Although I love the look of my UGA ice cube tray it is not the easiest tray for staying mess free....and when I went to put the tray in the freezer I made an even bigger mess. At this point in time I was VERY thankful for my Wet-Nap towelettes to make clean up easy.

Once your ice cubes have frozen it is time for step 2: adding your ice cubes to the Magic Bullet and blending.

Your finished result should look something like this:

And you are finished! It's time to sit back and enjoy your spring treat! Or, if you're like me...take a big sip and fulfill that pregnancy craving! Happy baby makes for a happy life, right?! :)

Thankfully, Wet-Nap products made enjoying this spring treat so much more enjoyable b by mading my least favorite part, the clean up process, SO much simpler! The Wet-Nap products are even safe to use on your face so they can help clean up your sticky smile as well! Before making your Coke Icee treat I would recommend using the linked coupon to download a coupon for $.55 off a Wet-Nap product while supplies last!

Enter to win:  Wet-Nap is currently holding a contest called the Most Original Mess Contest.  Participants can upload a photo entry of their messy kids and share the link across social media.  The photo with the most votes wins a $1,000 giftcard to Walmart and a year's supply of product. Voting will close on June 16.  You can see more at:

An Amazing Baby Gift from my Talented Friend, Sallie

By 3:08 PM , , , , ,
Do you guys remember my post back in November about my new friend, Sallie? Well since working with her to review the cute University of Georgia wreath she sent me she has become someone whom I not only admire but consider a friend! It is people like her that make me so glad I am a blogger because had it not been for this blog I would never have had the opportunity to "meet" her.

This girl is simply the sweetest! If you read the post than you already know about Sallie's sweet little boy, Evans, and that he was diagnosed with autism last year. As a result of his diagnosis (as I wrote about in the previous post) Sallie has gotten involved with Zac Brown's new organization, Camp Southern Ground, which is located in my home town and uses a percentage she makes from her business to help support this awesome cause.

When Sallie heard I was expecting she sent me the sweetest baby gift and I wanted to share with you all because I have gotten so many compliments on it!

It is a handmade baby announcement door hanger. Yes, she even used the colors of my nursery. I LOVE it! It is one of my absolute favorite baby gifts I have received. As you can see it shows his name and has a place for me to write in his date and time of birth and also weight and length at birth. I currently have this hanging on his bedroom door but might move it to the front door once he arrives so everyone can see his birth announcement!

Sallie sells these door hanging announcements at her etsy store, Silly Sal Gals. I think this would make a really neat accessory for the hospital as well! So much cuter than the dry erase marker on the board! She will work with you to design the announcement door hanger in any color/style if you do not see what you are looking for at her store. And trust me...once you email this girl you will quickly find out how sweet she is!

Sallie also gave me some awesome advice as I begin the journey into motherhood that I would to share with you all to encourage everyone else because I was so touched by her words,

"My advice is a bit unconventional and really it's something that my husband said to me along time ago. Our journey into parenthood has been unexpected and rocky. Every parent wants their child to be "ok" and having a child with special needs throws your world into a tailspin. You feel every conceivable emotions possible. But at the end if the day, your child is YOUR child, the love of your life and you will do anything in the absolute world to ensure his happiness! I can remember laying in bed night after night when we were changing work schedules to for therapy and agreeing to every possible intervention for Evans even though it meant 30 hour a week therapy commitments and I would say to Josh, " I just hope I am doing enough for Evans, I was tired today, I should have done more for him" and he so sweetly turned to me and said "because you worry about being a good mother, is the very reason you are a good mother". As mothers we are our biggest critics, we will analyze everything we do and don't do and wonder how those behaviors will shape our child. Our heart is literally walking around outside our body and we will loose hours of sleep worrying, praying, and planning for them. That attention to detail alone makes you a better mother than most.

Secondly, loving your child's father is probably one if the single most important things you can do for your son. No one in this world will love him like his mother and his father and when they in turn love one another it is a daily visual of love! It's our job to raise men who love and respect their wives and our actions as married parents speak louder than words.
Lastly, I remind myself (as unbelievable as it is) that this precious child is Gods child's first and despite how much I love him, God loves him even more. There are no mistakes! God has trusted you with his most precious gift! When Evans was diagnosed we are embarrassed to admit that we were angry with God...."why us", "why our child" but after we we finished our pity party it dawned on us. What confidence God must have in us to parent. He gave us this precious child because he was confident that we would EVERYTHING to provide for his needs. He trusts us THAT MUCH! That's an overwhelming realization! The same for you, he has trusted you with this precious baby of his because he knows your abilities and he knows your heart! He has great things planned for our boys!!!!! And how blessed are we that we are chosen to be mothers!!!! Enjoy every moment, it's a experience like no other! The hardest most wonderful job you will ever have!!!!!"

Her advice brought me to tears and was so wonderful that I shared it with my husband. May it touch and encourage one of you the way it did me!

Thank you again, Sallie for my amazing gift! I love it! Hard to believe I only have two more months until my due date and I can fill out my door hanger :)!!!

Initial Necklace

By 11:14 AM , , ,
I was so excited to receive my C&J initial necklace from Madeline at Minthologie Etsy store. Madeline makes the neatest jewelry and since receiving and wearing my necklace I have gotten many compliments!

Minthologie is an Etsy store that sells a hand-made collection of modern jewelry pieces for girls and women. Madeline uses an array of pearls, gems, and metals to create simple and affordable items that compliment any wardrobe.

Here is a photo of the necklace I received:

I love how simple it is and that it can be worn with literally any outfit yet still makes a statement! It has become my go-to necklace for many of my day to day outfits.

While making jewelry for friends and family for Christmas in 2012 Madeline had the idea to start her shop. Art and design has always been part of her life as her grandfather was a calligrapher and painter and when she was a little girl she used to grind ink for him while he painted. Her mother was also a painter and an art history professor who designed women's clothing. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree and Madeline has always loved creating and making things and thus is excited to be able to share her creativity with her customers through jewelry!

All of her pieces are simple yet gorgeous! I'm totally eyeing this necklace and bangle bracelet:

Madeline is a stay-at-home mom and her 3 year-old son provides her with a great reminder to have fun and include a little whimsy in her designs.

I have some exciting news!
Madeline has graciously offered to give a 15% discount to all my readers.

DIY "EAT" Letters

By 12:45 PM
I wanted to share with you all today my latest DIY project. I have been wanting "EAT" letters for kitchen for a while now but had not seen any to purchase that would fit the space where I was wanting to put them: i.e. a column in my kitchen. So when I had the idea to make my own I figured why not try? They turned out to be pretty easy to make and relatively inexpensive and I LOVE the finished result.

To make your own "EAT" letters are you need is the items shown in the picture below which include: cardboard letters E, A, & T (I bought these at Hobby Lobby for $2.50 a piece), Mod Podge, sponge brush, and scrapbook paper (I decided on this pretty postcard paper I found at Hobby Lobby and purchased 4 sheets although I didn't even end up using 2 of the sheets).

All I did was cut strips and pieces of the scrapbook paper and used Mod Podge to glue it on to the letters. I then went over each letter with an extra coat of Mod Podge to keep it all intact and make it look pretty. The project took me less than an hour and cost me less than $10!

Here is another picture of the finished project:
