O.k. now on to the fun stuff. I thought it would be fun to share with you all some of my favorite blogs that I stalk on a daily basis. I love reading these blogs getting inspired by these women who are such amazing mothers, business woman, home decorators, chefs, Christians, and friends. Check them out below and show them some love!

  • Mix and Match Family: Shay is a food blogger but her Mix and Match Family blog is all about her family. Shay is the sister of famous bachelor, Sean Lowe, and has the most precious family. She recently adopted the cutest little girl (Ashby) from China and writes all about fashion, food, and family. This is hands down one of my FAVORITE blogs to read.

  • My Sweet Savannah: Want to be totally inspired when it comes to home decor? I love Melanie's sense of style and her taste.

  •  House Tweaking: I really like Dana's photos and her style of writing.

  • You Can Sit With Us: A lifestyle blog written by my amazing cousin (in-law) Joanna and her three amazing friends. Love this blog as you get posts from four awesome women at four very different stages of life. This blog is the perfect mix of a little bit of everything.

Book Review Dark Rising: Book #2 of the Archangel Prophecies

By 2:49 PM
Thank you to Monica McGurk for sponsoring this post. Click here to check out Dark Hope: Book One of the Archangel Prophecies by Monica McGurk.

If you have been reading my blog since last August you will remember me posting about the first book in the Archangel Prophecies Trilogy called Dark Hope: Book One of the Archangel Prophecies. Well, I am excited to tell you that Monica McGurk has done it again! I had the opportunity to read her second book in the series and it did not disappoint

Dark Rising written by Monica McGurk continues the story of Hope Carmichael who is the survivor of a child abduction and currently on the run. The only problem is Hope is not completely sure who she is running from...the mark on her neck has branded her and the Fallen Angels think that Hope is the long lost answer to getting in to Heaven by force. Hope, on the other hand, is searching down the true item that will open Heaven's gates so she can destroy it all while also running from the group of human traffickers that are searching for their revenge. This book explores some deep themes including love, jealousy, fate, trust, and identity.

I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to my friends. However, I must warn you. This book similar to the first in the series, is one that will get you thinking about some deep and even dark themes including human trafficking and empowerment.

For those of you who don't know Monica McGurk (the author) is passionate on ending human trafficking and a huge advocate for women.  You can check her out on social media below:

The 20 Question Game

By 3:31 PM ,
It's been a while since I've done a get to know you post so when I saw this 20 question game on Meet the Sullivans I decided to join in on the fun!

1. Favorite food:
Easy. Mexican hands down. I could eat it five times a week. I love it so much that I totally don't count Moe's as eating Mexican. :)

2. Flip flops or high heels:
Flip flops all the way. I a not a friend of sore feet. Although I do wear them several times a  week to work but I also totally rock a cute wedge.

3. Favorite places to shop for yourself:
Pretty much all of my clothes come from TJ Maxx, Marshalls, online boutiques, or everyone's favorite....Target!

4. Standard Coffee order:
Chai Tea Latte or Pumpkin Spice Latte when it is in season

5. Road trip must have snack:
Chewy Sprees (I'm an addict), Mentos, and anything cheesy.

6. DIY or hire it out?
I would say we are DIYers 80% of the time. My husband is SUPER handy and has been known to replace our water heater, change oils in our cars, paint our home, change out light fixtures, and more. However, when it comes to the things we don't find fun we are not opposed to hiring it out. We have a SAINT who cleans our house every three weeks and have hired out our exterior of our home to be painted. Basically we take the fun stuff or things we can't bear to pay for and hire out the things that are going to suck tons of time and are basic.

7. Top 5 TV shows:
Bachelor/Bachelorette, Walking Dead, Revenge, Modern Family, Jim Gaffigan Show, Duck Dynasty (if you have not seen Jon Luke and Mary Kate's wedding you need to...adorable!)....I have also recently started binge watching Parenthood and have become addicted

8. Favorite Book:
Heaven is Real is one of my all time favorites.

9. Favorite Form of Exercising:
Pure Bare or Walking.

10. How tall are you?
5'5.5" and in case you were wondering, yes that extra 1/2 an inch matters

11. Do you try something new at restaurants or stick to your favorites?
I'm a creature of habit and stick to my favorites.

12. One make up item you can't live without:
My phone.

13. What's on your nightstand?
A framed picture from our wedding, candle, coaster with a picture of my mom and in in college, lamp, phone charger, and baby monitor.

14. What's one thing motherhood has taught you?
Only one thing? That's tough. I guess if I could just pick one thing it would be that time is SO precious. Babies grow so fast....you blink and they are a toddler. Soak it up people and don't blink!

15. Music that reminds you of high school:
N'Sync or get ready...Nobody's Angel...google it all all 2000 kids.

16. If you could live anywhere in the world besides your current city where would you live?
I think I would love living in Nashville or Charlotte...

17. Tell us something about you we might not know:
I'm a bit of a germ avoid-er. I do not share drinks with anyone besides my husband and even if I do that (which is seldom) I have to have two straws. I won't share a dessert so if you go out to dinner with me we will need to get two plates and cut the dessert in half and put it on our own plates before eating. Also, airports gross me out. I don't touch the railings on the sky train...ew!

18. Websites you read/browse (besides blogs):
Goodness, I'm lucky if I get to pursue Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and my favorite blogs everyday.

19. Morning person or Night owl?
Morning person for sure!  I am way more productive in the morning...and crash at night!

20. Favorite Breakfast meal:
Donuts...I have an obsession. It is my guilty pleasure.

What about you? Want to play along?

Bottle Feeding Doesn't Have to Be Stressful

By 3:23 PM , , ,
Bottles. I have a love/hate relationship with them. For real. Love them because they provide a way for my baby to eat when I'm not there which as a working mom is super important. Hate them because they can be hard to clean and babies can be super picky when it comes to which bottle they will take.

Well, fear not mommas! I have found a bottle that I would recommend you try out. Mimbie is a high quality soft silicone baby’s bottle teat with revolutionized design-functionality that nurtures a newborn’s instinctive breastfeeding technique. The bottle is BPA free but the most amazing part about the bottle, especially for those newborns, is that the bottle creates no difference in a babies feeding pattern after having a bottle versus nursing.

Mimbie is perfect for moms like myself that are breastfeeding mothers who need to go back to work as the product is comfortable for babies to feed from and also supportive of continued breastfeeding.

Seriously, do yourself a favor and add this bottle to your registry today. You will thank me later. Here are 3good reasons to try this bottle and get excited about the fact that you can both bottle and breastfeed.

1. Bottle feeding lets dad, grandparents, etc. bond with the baby as well.
2. The Mimbie bottle air vent adjusts to your baby's feed rate.
3. The Mimbie bottles are made of glass so you do not have to work about BPA junk. :)

But seriously moms and dads...we have been there. Going from liquids to solids can be a big adjustment in your little one's life. Before you know it that gag reflex kicks in and they are gagging and spewing food everywhere.

Thanks to Gerber’s 3rd Foods® Lil Bits™ Recipes this transition does not have to be so hard anymore on the little guy/gal or on mom and dad. Gerber’s 3rd Foods® Lil Bits™ Recipes are made with perfectly sized soft bits of fruits or veggies that are mixed with baby food to help your baby learn to chew. Gerber’s 3rd Foods® Lil Bits™ Recipes offer a gradual texture progression that help babies learn the skills they need to transition to table food learning how to chew. Each Lil’ Bits recipe is made with perfectly sized soft pieces of fruits or veggies and no added salt, starch, or artificial colors or flavors.

So how do you know your baby is ready to start transitioning? Below are five signs your baby might be ready to start trying these foods:

1. They are still hungry after eating the stage 1 or stage 2 baby food.
2. They are showing interest in what you are eating.
3. They have begun to crawl or are sitting up on their own.
4. They can grasp on to a spoon or similar object.
5. They are loosing interest in the stage 1 and stage 2 foods.

For us this transition began to happen when our little guy was about 4 months old but it still took him a few months to actually learn to chew. This product greatly increased his comfortably with chewing while still allowing him to get the needed nutrients from the fruits and veggies.

I love that Gerber has created the "Chew U-inversity" to help make this milestone fun! Way to go Gerber for helping us celebrate these amazing milestones! Below is a photo of our proud little guy in his "graduation gear."

So excited for this movie + Giveaway

By 1:43 PM , , ,
Hey everybody! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! We sure did. It was full of time with our niece and nephews which we so enjoyed but we are exhausted this morning. Four kids ages 5 and under will do that to you. :)

In case you aren't aware I wanted to let you know about a movie that is coming out September 11th that I am SO excited about. This movie is based off one of my favorite ever books that was truly life changing for me.

90 Minutes in Heaven, starring Hayden Christensen (Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith), Kate Bosworth (Remember The Titans, Blue Crush) Michael W. Smith, Fred Thompson, Dwight Yoakam, and Jason Kennedy, 90 Minutes In Heaven is based on the inspiring New York Times best-selling book that has sold 7 million copies. Check out the trailer here
The book/movie tells the story of Pastor Don Piper who died January 18, 1989 when a semi-tractor truck crushed his car.  Declared dead by the first rescue workers to arrive on the scene, Don's body lay under a tarp for the next 90 minutes.  Don's soul, meanwhile, was experiencing love, joy, and life like he'd never known before.  Don was in Heaven.

When another pastor's prayers helped bring Don back to life, he became a living miracle!  Yet this is one miracle Don wished never happened.  Heaven's bliss was replaced by excruciating pain and emotional turmoil.  With the support and prayers of his beloved Eva, their three kids, and friends near and far, Don clings to his faith in God and fights to regain a semblance of his previous life.  The Piper family's incredible true story of perseverance and overcoming the challenges of life - and death - will bring hope and encouragement to all who see it. This book will truly give you a total new perspective of death and after life in Heaven.

I read this book right after loosing my grandfather who was a second dad to me. It truly changed my perspective on so many things. I can't wait to see this story be made into a movie and highly encourage you all to check it out.

The rain is gone.... Ha, just kidding...

Today I wanted to share with you all my new pair of glasses from Firmoo. For those of you who are not familiar with Firmoo or may have missed my previous posts about this company Firmoo is the world's most popular online glasses company. They offer great deals on glass es(seriously you can purchase a pair of glasses for less than $15) and sunglasses. I have purchased and received several different pairs of glasses from Firmoo now and have never been disappointed. Since they are affordable they are great to get yourself a few extra pairs so you can leave one at work, home, in the car, etc.

I have shared before my struggle with chronic dry eye and how now much to my dismay I can only wear contacts a couples times a week for a few hours at a time. Luckily thanks to Firmoo I am provided an inexpensive option that allows me to shake up my style easily and inexpensively when I get tired of my pair of glasses.

I highly recommend this company for those of you who are blind like myself, ha, or even for those of you looking for readers or sunglasses.

Disclosure: I received a free product in exchange for a honest review based on personal experience with this product. No monetary compensation was received or will be received between MFJ and the associated company with this product.
