Our 2015 Christmas Card

By 10:55 AM , , ,
I LOVE sending and receiving Christmas cards.  It's one of my favorite holiday traditions.

I wish I could send each and every one of you a Christmas card this year.  From the bottom of my heart, Merry Christmas to you and your family.

And as always, a big thank you to our photographer and friend Faryl for capturing these beautiful pictures of my little family.

Meeting Santa Claus

By 10:39 AM ,
This year was little E's second year meeting Santa Claus. He has been SO in to everything Christmas. Everytime he sees Santa (whether real or stuffed) he says "Ho, ho, ho." It's pretty adorable.

Our neighborhood association has Santa come to our clubhouse one day every year. Santa is such a great Santa. It's the perfect opportunity to see him because you don't have to wait in line and you can take your own pictures. They give you a number and then you go to a room with cookies, juice boxes, and Christmas crafts and wait for your number to be called in that room. Perfect.

When it was our turn E was WAY excited. Until it was time to sit in Santa's lap. As long as I was with him it was fine but he was a little skeptical about sitting in Santa's lap alone. No tears. Just skeptical. Can't say I blame him.

The following day we went to our local Avenue as they were offering free horse and carriage rides which was also a huge hit. Santa was also there and E insisted on seeing him again. This time he gave him a high five and blew him kisses. Still didn't want to sit in his lap alone so we got a family picture, ha. We didn't expect to see Santa so weren't picture ready. When it was our time to leave Santa he did not want to. He wanted to just stay there and blow him kisses all day long. Christmas is going to be SO fun.

One of my favorite things we have done yet this year to celebrate Christmas was a drive thru nativity I took the little guy through. Unfortunately Daddy had to miss out since he was sick so I let E sit in my lap as we drove through. He was so interested in learning all about the nativity story. My favorite part was when he said "Love ew" to Jesus at the end.

Someone should have warned me how much fun 18 months would be. I was truly unprepared. I thank God everyday for blessing us with this little guy.

What was your kid's reaction to Santa this year?

A Ball of Fun Playdate

By 7:48 PM , , , ,
I received free products in order to host a Bright Starts League of Little Laughers sponsored play date . All opinions in this post are my own.
Few things in life compare to that of a child's laughter. Thanks to Bright Starts I recently got to hear a lot of laughter as I had the pleasure of hosting a play date for my son featuring some of Bright Starts League of Little Laughers toys. If you are a parent then you know play dates are awesome because not only do they allow mommies to catch up but they are allow our kids to get some socialization and create friendships.

As a mom I look for toys that are both educational and fun and grow with the child as they age. Bright Starts creates toys that are just that. Our play date consisted of kids from a wide range of ages and they all enjoyed the toys (ages 9 months-6 years old)!

The biggest hit of the play date was the  Learn and Giggle Activity Station (on sale right now for $30). E can sit there and play for a solid 15 minutes with this one toy alone which is amazing. That means I can actually start dinner, thank you Bright Starts!

The runner up favorite was the Spin & Giggle Puppy ($19.99). None of us moms had ever seen anything like it. It kept the babies AND older kids happy. This toy brought some much laughter to the kids. I love it and would highly recommend it if you are still looking for a Christmas gift.

We have found the Learn & Giggle Fish ($17.99) makes a wonderful car toy. The lights and sounds really keep my toddler memorized in the car. Well at least for 5 minutes or so, ha. They loved this toy so much they wouldn't even let us stop and take it out of the box.

All the kids love the Giggables ($8.99) and Bunch of Balls ($7.99). My kid LOVES to throw balls around the house so an entire container of plastic balls was jackpot to him! The play date quickly turned in to a ball throwing session with lots of little laughter.

I think my favorite thing about Bright Starts is that they offer toys that are affordable. The most expensive thing in this review was the Learn and Giggle Activity Station for $29.99 (regularly $39.99). It’s almost impossible to find new toys at that price! I love when I am able to review products that I would buy myself. I have no problem recommending these toys to all of my friends since they were very much enjoyed by all.  If you’re still looking for Christmas presents, you should definitely consider these toys from Bright Starts.
What are your favorite baby toys?

Our Christmas Home Tour 2015

By 8:33 PM ,
Thank you so much for visiting!
Welcome back to all you longtime readers, and welcome welcome to everyone coming here for the first time! I appreciate you taking the time to look through all my holiday home photos.

Welcome to our home! This year we stepped out our outdoor game with icicle lights on the top of the porch and added a blow up Santa to our landscape.

The Happy Holidays sign and stockings came from Kirklands and the Santa cups are antiques I have collected from various estate sales.

The NOEL letters are from Target and the Elf cow is a fun touch for the little guy (the house was decorating with a toddler in mind this year). I will show you a zoomed in look at the plate and tree house.

The tree house from Dickens village was an new add this year passed to me from my mom. This holds a special place in my heart as my grandfather built my brother and I one just like it when we were kids.

Ah Coke Santa. I have had him since I was a child. He is actually worth quite a pretty penny now but my son has loved hugging Santa and carrying him around the house.

The red truck with the tree in the back is a new addition this year from Target. I am a sucker for any red truck with a tree.

Hallway to our son's room, guest room, and guest bath

He is so excited to have his own tree in his room this year. The ornaments get moved daily. I also love the little drummer music box on his shelf (was given to my mom when she was pregnant with me by my grandmother who has now gone to be with the Lord and my mom gave it to me when I was pregnant with little guy). I also love the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. We got ours at Five Below for $5.

And on to to the guest bedroom which is on the DIY list.

I love our new stockings from Pottery Barn. The green trees on either side of the mantle I got from TJ Maxx.

Notice elf on the shelf worshiping baby Jesus.

More pictures to come soon....

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
